Purple Rain Lamp

I never meant 2 cause u any sorrow
I never meant 2 cause u any pain

I only wanted 2 one time see u laughing

I only wanted 2 see u laughing in the purple rain

I love Goodwill. My daughter and I regularly visit Goodwill and compete to see who can get the best deal. We've been in Goodwills all the way from Chicago to San Antonio and points in between.

Nearly two years ago I bought a floor lamp at the local Goodwill for around $10. It was an ugly color, my daughter referred to it as Pepto Bismal pink. She was being kind.

But I really liked the style. You can see the pictures here. It has ridges that run in waves from top to bottom which give it an unusual design.

I thought it would look cool to paint it all black, and it did. But I can never stop there.

In high school, a teacher told my daughter that she went way beyond what she needed to do for a project. Her reply was, "What do you expect? I'm a Campbell, we overdo everything."

With the lamp, I filled a plastic bottle with purple paint and ran a bead of paint along each of those ridges, allowing the paint to randomly drip down the lamp.... purple rain.

You come up with some of the most unusual ideas! Is this for the purple room?

I love GoodWill. I go there at least once a week. I too have found some great lamps there.

I think you are both creative AND artistic :-)

Oh My God.......I just saw a lamp the other day that must have your name on it. If I see it again, I will buy it and ship it to you. Your mind will never be the same :)
